The focus of this project is the exploration of the concept of virtuosity through time: beginning in the present, with music by A. Fraioli and L. Berio, paying hommage to the late First Lady of Estonian Music E. Mägi, through the romantic work of C. Schumann, to the pure virtuosity of B. H. Crusell's Second Concerto. Each composer tests in their own way the physical and expressive boundaries of the instrument.

The music of this concert plays around the connection between past and present: the music of the past, by I. Müller and B. H. Crusell, is played on modern instruments; the music of the present, commissioned to S. K. Yung, is specifilly written for historical instrument. Penderecki's Quartet acts as a bridge between the two sides.
