Biography
I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Clarinet Performance with the highest mark in 2017, from Conservatorio G. Cantelli of Novara. From 2018 to 2020 I attended the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn, where I graduated from the master’s program in Clarinet Performance cum laude under the guidance of Toomas Vavilov, and where I had been a recipient of the DoRa+ scolarship and the EMTA merit-based scholarships. Currently, I am pursuing a doctoral degree and working as Junior Researcher in the same Academy, with a research on period clarinet affordances.
During my studies I took part in various masterclasses with renowned clarinettist, such as Yehuda Gilad, Fabrizio Meloni, Calogero Palermo, Harri Mäki, Giuseppe Gentile, Hermann Stefansson. I was awarded the “Young Talent” prize by the “Associazione Musicale i Cavalieri” at the clarinet masterclass of Fabrizio Meloni in 2019.
In September 2019 I appeared as a soloist at the opening ceremony of the new Concert Hall of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where I performed the “Concerto Grosso” by Eino Tamberg conducted by Arvo Volmer.
Chamber music and contemporary music fascinate me, and I played with different ensembles in music festivals and concert series such as the Aurora Stockholm Music Festival 2017, “Ottobre Culturale Gravellonese 2019”, “Verbania Musica 2019”, Afekt 2019, SügiFest 2019 and 2020, and MüriaadFEST 2020. I premiered various new music works, in particular by the Hong Kong based composer Yung Sin Kan.
I performed with Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino, Orchestra Sinfonica Carlo Coccia, Orchestra Accademia Teatro alla Scala, EMTA Sinfonietta, MYO-Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. I am currently second clarinet at the Estonian National Opera Orchestra.
